Like for instance for as long as I can remember, "fireman" is discouraged and firefighter is preferred. Btw you do understand right that this sketch is not mocking PC-ness, it's mocking conservative revisionist history.

​@@sameash3153 I would agree Trevor is probably the most right wing of all of them, and loves making sketches like the "Trevor talks to school children" one where he fills their heads with conspiracy theories. But he also was fairly libertarian too, like his song about when "the gays got married", and all the religious folks acting like the world's ended. That's hilarious. Overall though, WKUK is a pretty liberal group. And this sketch is very blatantly mocking revisionist history designed to make America look good. Genuinely can't help you any more if even this sketch which is one of the more progressive ones, is confusing you about its messaging.

@ash_yt0 Yes, I would say he is a right-libertarian. He grew up around a traditional conservative family and rebelled against their attitudes, but he said he never truly assimilated into the liberal areas he would move into. He would later admit to be more sympathetic to their values as he grew older and especially when he had his son. My own theory? We know he is a troll, and we know they all had a lot of liberties in writing their sketches. We know that they didn't all agree. We know that they often wrote coded sketches, and in their recent livestreams there were several sketches were other members were clued into the hidden joke for the very first time. We know that they often strove to "get away" with controversial takes on TV. It's totally possible that he wrote sketches knowing the network would interpret it one way, the group would interpret it another, and he himself would interpret it differently from everybody else. They have said before that when they were doing the conspiracy theory skits, they didn't realize how seriously he took that stuff, and some of them have regrets over them. He has admitted to doing this with skits like "Geniuses". He framed it as a satire of racist ignorance in order to get it on comedy central. And yet the giveaway that it isn't satirical is the literal punchline of the skit, where he flat out says none of what the character who corrects him said is actually true. The actual message of the skit is mocking progressive revisionist history. And, my last piece of evidence, he was a fan of Sam Hyde, who did all of the same shit. This specific skit? I don't even know if he wrote it. Feels like something he would write though. Regardless, I will defend on principle that Trevor did in fact hide several of his real beliefs knowing that his liberal friends would think them satirical.

About how stupid it would be to believe in this? I secretly believe that stupid thing! Hee hee!" That is not exactly a 1,000 IQ move. Perhaps you do think unironically believing an ironic parody is intellectually brilliant? If not then we're pretty much in agreement. Anyhow, this sketch only works as comedy if it's an ironic sketch.
